Taking A Look At Cardinals Newest Receiver Zach Pascal

The Arizona Cardinals free agency this offseason has been very quiet as of late and has not made many headlines and not many new faces in recent days. However, that is not to say the Cardinals haven’t been adding any new faces.

The team announced on Monday that they had agreed to a two-year deal with ex-eagles wide receiver Zach Pascal.

Pascal, 28, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Redskins following the 2017 draft. After spending a couple months with the Redskins, he ended up being waived and claimed by the Tennesse Titans. Then after one season with the Titans, Pascal found himself on the move again, and this time to the Indianapolis Colts. Pascal would play with the Colts for the next 4 seasons where he recorded 150 receptions for 1,888 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Then after the 2021 season, he followed his then-offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni to the Philadelphia Eagles. Pascal only recorded 15 receptions for 150 yards and 1 touchdown. While his numbers weren’t exactly what they were with the Colts in previous years, Pascal’s presence and support he showed in the locker room helped the Eagles en route to their Super Bowl berth. Now Pascal finds himself following his old defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon to the desert to try and help him get back to the big game.

Pascal who joins a somewhat crowded receivers room, brings physicality and height to the outside wide receiver positions. His ability to be rough with the football is exciting to see and fits the mold that Coach Gannon wants for the team identity.

It is interesting to note that the addition of Pascal comes in light of a potential Deandre Hopkins trade and if this turns out to be true, Pascal may have an opportunity to play a major role in the offense.

Being only 28 years old, the 6’2 receiver provides major upside and could prove to be a very underrated signing when final rosters are completed before next season begins.
