The Coyotes Report: In The Den Pt. 3

This Week’s Games

@ Home against the Dallas Stars
At least one team came to play a Hockey game. The Stars dominated the Coyotes in Mullett Arena with a score of 7-2. The team was called for 4 penalties so they could never get back into the game. At least the Penalty Kill never let the Stars get a goal on the PK. Coyotes Goals came from D Juuso Valimaki (1) and LW Lawson Crouse (5).

@ Washington DC against the Capitols
The Road Trip began with a win for the Coyotes. The Coyotes were down 2-0 until the middle of the 3rd period when the team finally came alive and scored 3 goals to win the game. The final score was 3-2 for the Coyotes. Goal scorers were D Josh Brown (2) and RW Nick Ritchie (62) scored two goals.

@ Buffalo against the Sabres
The Coyotes are having a great start to this road trip with four players scoring goals. They beat the Sabres by a score of 4-1. Goal Scorers were LW Lawson Crouse (6), LW Matias Maccelli (1) got his first goal of the season on the Power Play. The third period had the Coyotes lock down the game with goals by C Liam O’Brein (1) and RW Clayton Keller (4)

The Good
The Coyotes needed to get back on the road. Two wins against teams that were better than them has given the team more confidence. They are starting to listen to what Head Coach Andre Tourigny has to say. They are playing as a team. I am liking what I see after the first 12 games of the season.

The Bad
The last game in Tempe was a disaster, and the crowd was leaving at the beginning of the third period.

How The Coyotes are Trending
The Coyotes are now 5-6-1 with 11 points so far in the standings. They are sitting in the middle of the Western Conference standings, and only a few points behind the playoff cutoff. Granted, we are only 12 games into the season, and the playoffs are another 70 games away.

What’s on Tap
On Thursday, the Coyotes continue the road trip and play the New York Islanders. They play the New Jersey Devils on Saturday and play the New York Rangers on Sunday before coming home for a short rest.
